Christy Holtby joined Amii in 2020 as the Managing Director of Investment & Partnerships. Committed to building capacity for research and innovation, Christy focuses on industry and partner engagement to advance the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) in its mission to inspire world-changing machine intelligence for good and for all.
For 10 years, Christy pursued her passion for healthcare and innovation with the University Hospital Foundation in various fundraising roles. She led the creation of a new department at UHF, facilitating Public Private Philanthropic Partnerships (P4s) in her role as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Annual Giving. This collaborative P4 model between multiple levels of government, industry and the Foundation continues to accelerate Alberta’s innovations into solutions that impact the health of all Albertans.
Christy has benefited from being a member of both the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy and recently completed the Johns Hopkins Medicine Philanthropy Institute. She was selected to join the inaugural class of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy’s Forty Under 40 program. In November of 2018, Christy completed her Community Shift Fellowship at the Ivey School of Business.
Passionate about the role of sports and coaching in leadership and development for youth, Christy served on the board of directors for KidSport Edmonton and established Ladies and Littles – an event to introduce skating to mothers and children. She is also the co-founder of Ladies on the Green, a golf tournament for non-golfers, supporting the Zebra Child Protection Centre.
Currently, Christy is an advisor to Parity YEG and serves as a Steering Committee Member for Edmonton’s Health City.
