Nicolas Raymond is a Machine Learning Intern with the Advanced Tech team at Amii, working with the National Research Council of Canada project. He is a recent graduate of the Université de Sherbrooke, where he earned a Master’s in Computer Science and a Bachelor's in Mathematics.

Through the course of his Master's, Nicolas did a research project in machine learning applied to healthcare. The project consisted of developing models for the prediction of certain late adverse effects related to the treatment of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Prior to completing his Master's, he had the opportunity to work in the automation and the optimization of loading processes (i.e minimizing waste of space, prioritizing certain clients) associated with the transport of goods for a manufacturer of recreational vehicles.

Nicolas is interested in using machine learning to create projects that contribute to the well-being of society, with a particular focus on healthcare and climate change. He is passionate about travelling and practicing outdoor sports such as hiking, mountain biking and snowboarding. He also enjoys baking bagels and reading books about self-growth and machine learning.
