Since receiving his Ph.D. at Stanford University, Bill Laaser has held a variety of roles in both research and development in Silicon Valley.  For the last ten years, he has been a member of the Innovation and Advanced Technology Group at Intuit where he has helped Intuit understand and use emerging trends in technology.  Bill is excited about the resurgence of machine learning in recent years and the possibilities for its use at Intuit.

Machine Learning at Intuit

Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, Quickbooks, and Mint, handles some of our customers most sensitive data.  We are continuously looking for ways to use that data on behalf of our users improve their lives.  In particular, machine learning is a valuable tool to understand the data and to produce new value from that data.
