Join us for an exciting conversation and dive into homegrown breakthroughs and technologies that create real-world impact.

Hear from some of our province’s talented medical professionals and a leading AI researcher at this special event. This month’s topic is Learning Health Systems: systems in which “science, informatics, incentives, and culture are aligned for continuous improvement and innovation, with best practices seamlessly embedded in the delivery process and new knowledge captured as an integral by‐product of the delivery experience” (Institute of Medicine, 2015).

Overview of the event:

Opening remarks from event host Lawrence Richer MD, MSc, FRCPC – Academic Lead (Precision Health Signature Initiative); Associate Dean, Clinical and Translational Research (Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta)

Followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  1. Tim Murphy – Vice President, Health (Alberta Innovates)
  2. Dr. Neesh Pannu – Scientific Director, Kidney Strategic Clinical Network (AHS) and Assistant Dean; Clinical Research Platforms (University of Alberta)
  3. Randy Goebel – Amii Fellow; Professor, Department of Computing Science; Associate VP Research & Innovation and Academic (University of Alberta)

Open forum for questions will conclude the event.
