The AI Seminar is a weekly meeting at the University of Alberta where researchers interested in artificial intelligence (AI) can share their research. Presenters include both local speakers from the University of Alberta and visitors from other institutions. Topics can be related in any way to artificial intelligence, from foundational theoretical work to innovative applications of AI techniques to new fields and problems.
On November 5, 2021, Aditya Khosla of PathAI presented “AI for Pathology” at the AI Seminar.
The diagnoses made by pathologists can have a profound impact on the lives of patients. In the presentation, Kholsa discusses how PathAI is using machine learning to help pathologists make more accurate diagnoses and better predict how patients will respond to treatment. He goes over some of the specific areas the team has worked on, including cancer and liver disease.
