AI Seminar Series 2021: Myrna Bittner

The AI Seminar is a weekly meeting at the University of Alberta where researchers interested in artificial intelligence (AI) can share their research. Presenters include both local speakers from the University of Alberta and visitors from other institutions. Topics can be related in any way to artificial intelligence, from foundational theoretical work to innovative applications of AI techniques to new fields and problems.

On June 4, Myrna Bittner (CEO and Co-Founder of RWI Synthetics) presented "RWI’s Story of Calculating Impact with Scenario-based Intelligence and De-risking in Single Synthetic Environments”.

RWI Synthetics is an AI-based modelling company that supplies rapid Single Synthetic Environments (SSE) -- a living digital twin of a city or region which is used to calculate the impacts of opportunities and risks (both existing and anticipated) -- for disrupted sectors. In her talk, Myrna explores how this type of modelling can make complex futures more accessible to all stakeholders.
