AI Seminar Series 2021: Shanny Lu & Hongbiao Tao

The AI Seminar is a weekly meeting at the University of Alberta where researchers interested in artificial intelligence (AI) can share their research. Presenters include both local speakers from the University of Alberta and visitors from other institutions. Topics can be related in any way to artificial intelligence, from foundational theoretical work to innovative applications of AI techniques to new fields and problems.

On September 3, Shanny Lu (Unit Manager - Data & Analytics Consultant at DevFacto) & Hongbiao Tao (Senior Analytics Consultant at DevFacto) presented “AI – An Industrial Roller Coaster Ride" at the AI Seminar.

In this talk, Shanny and Hongbiao introduce DevFacto’s Data & Analytics practice, sharing experience and stories surrounding the three pillars in this practice -- Data Engineering, Data Analytics and Data Management -- with a focus on what it takes to bring an AI project from vision to life.
