Join our team! We are looking for a full-time permanent Program Owner - Startups.

The Program Owner-Startups drives program and product excellence for early-stage startups, and is an active participant in program and product delivery, fosters the development of multi-disciplinary teams, and facilitates client relationships and industry partnerships.

The Program Owner will utilize their exceptional business and project management skills to build great relationships across teams within the organization to develop and execute programs and products our clients will love. Taking a Matrix Management approach, the Program Owner acts as the program manager for their team and works collaboratively with the leaders of functional areas to ensure success.

Also, the Program Owner prioritizes relationships with Amii’s clients. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business and technical expertise while focusing on your skills in planning and executing client engagements. Your strong communication skills will benefit the team and stakeholders in being informed and up to date on projects’ progress and performance. Capitalizing on the knowledge and expertise of cross-functional teams at Amii, you will empower our clients with knowledge and skills to advance their business in the spectrum of AI adoption.

The role focuses on achieving excellence in three primary accountabilities:

  • Program and Product Development: Identify, validate and develop all products and services in the startup program stream, in collaboration with program team members.
  • Client Success: Keep client-centric problem/solution fit at the centre of program development and delivery
  • Industry Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the challenges facing clients in the startup program stream, and share that expertise with the organization.


  • 5+ years in product, operations, or project management
  • A University degree in a relevant program is an asset. Fields of study can be broad and include Business, Communications, Economics, Management, or Engineering.
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is an asset
  • 3+years of budgeting processes and data management experience is an asset
  • Experience working with early-stage technology startups or in innovation community development is an asset
  • Experience in investor relations or working in a startup incubator or accelerator is an asset
  • Functional knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and tools
  • Experience managing client projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate highly technical subject matter to a variety of audiences, including those that are non-technical
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; experience speaking at industry and academic conferences preferred
  • Intellectual curiosity and desire to learn new things, techniques and technologies
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with partner organizations, potential partners such as companies, sponsors and community members
  • Ability to identify the needs of stakeholders and create/drive new solutions
