We are looking for a service-focused and responsive Systems Administrator for our expanding team located in Edmonton to act as the primary point of contact for all our IT-related needs! As a System Admin with Amii, you will have the opportunity to provide high-value IT services. Your work has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of Amii by ensuring performance, security and access to our systems.

Job Description

Reporting to the CFO, the Systems Administrator serves as a key member of the Finance & Admin team and an active participant in ensuring performance, security and access to our systems.

The work of the Systems Administrator has a direct impact on the day-to-day productivity of Amii by ensuring performance, security and access to our systems. The Systems Administrator provides desktop support to all end users. The Systems Administrator is responsible for implementing IT security protocols, policies & procedures, monitoring and ensuring compliance.

The role focuses on achieving excellence in three main accountabilities:

  • System Performance, Security & Access
  • Ensuring Compliance with Amii IT Protocols, Policies & Procedures
  • Stakeholder Satisfaction

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
  • Command of Mac operating system, in addition to Linux & Windows
  • Experience with Cisco IOS
  • Experience with Ubiquiti UniFi products
  • Experience with VMware and KVM Hypervisors
  • Experience with backup and data management solutions (Acronis & openmediavault)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP
  • Experience with network management protocols (DHCP and DNS)
  • Advanced knowledge of Cloud platforms (Google Suite, Microsoft 365, Slack, ManageEngine MDM)
  • Advanced knowledge of network and system security (e.g. access management, authentication policies, and routing)
