
AI Workforce Readiness
Amii is launching a national initiative to equip more than 125,000 Canadian students with foundational AI skills each year.
Supported by Google.org, the program invites Canadian post-secondary institutions to apply for membership in a national consortium.
Accepted institutions will receive free access to teaching resources, curriculum packages, and collaboration opportunities—helping prepare students for success in an AI-driven economy.

Participating Post-Secondaries Receive
Module 0
A 3-hour, ready-to-teach AI literacy module with slides, activities, and assessments.
Instructor Support
Optional foundational AI training for teaching staff.
Curriculum Packages
AI content designed to integrate into existing courses across disciplines (e.g. AI in Nursing, AI in IT, etc.).
LMS Access
All materials are provided through a dedicated learning platform.
Upper Bound Bursary
Up to $2,000 annually to support travel to Upper Bound, an annual AI conference powered by Amii.

Eligibility and How to Apply
Eligibility
The program is open to all Canadian post-secondary institutions, including universities, colleges, polytechnics, and specialty schools. Academic staff—tenured, sessional, or instructional—are eligible to participate.

AI Workforce Readiness is powered by Amii, a national leader in AI literacy.
Amii is one of Canada’s three national AI institutes, advancing the country’s leadership in artificial intelligence through the Pan-Canadian AI Strategy.

Program Governance
AI Workforce Readiness is guided by a Steering Committee of 10 members representing industry, education, and workforce expertise. Three members will be selected from the participating PSIs to help shape curriculum priorities and program direction.
Program Funding
The AI Workforce Readiness Program is fully funded by a $5 million grant from Google.org. Participation is free for accepted post-secondary institutions. Funding covers curriculum development, consortium management, research activities, and travel support for participation in the annual Upper Bound AI conference powered by Amii.
