Kimia Alaviyar is a Machine Learning Resident with the Advanced Technology team at Amii. She is currently working with Northwest Hydraulic Consultants on applying machine learning techniques to time-series hydro-climate data, focusing on predictive modelling for environmental systems. Previously, she was an Artificial Intelligence Researcher at the University of Alberta, where her research explored online learning and online optimization.
Kimia earned a double-degree BSc in Computer Engineering and Mathematics from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) and completed her MSc in Computer Science at the University of Alberta with a focus on online resource allocation and mechanism design.
Outside of work, Kimia enjoys learning new languages, practicing street jazz, and martial arts.
