Swati Kanwal is a Machine Learning Resident at Amii, where she is building intelligent automation solutions for National Safety Service at the intersection of Natural Language Processing, applied AI, and industrial safety. She brings a blend of academic and applied research experience, including work with HealthLink BC’s 811 program and UBC’s Department of Digital Emergency Medicine focused on predictive modeling, and research at the Data Mining and Management Lab at UBC and Huawei Canada. Swati earned her M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of British Columbia, where her thesis focused on exploring the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) for biomedical relation extraction.
Beyond research, Swati enjoys all things funny, especially watching stand-up shows, exploring the intricacies of the human brain, and diving into the archives of old David Letterman interviews.
