AI for the environment

As environmental challenges continue to evolve, AI is becoming an essential tool for understanding and addressing them. This scholarship provides emerging Earth Science and Meteorology students with the foundational AI skills required to meet this critical moment. The fully funded program grants participants  access to the Artificial Intelligence Literacy Foundations: Environmental Sciences and Meteorology Pre-Professional Development program. Delivered entirely online, this offers maximum flexibility to fit seamlessly around your existing schedule.

Who is this program for?

This program is open to Canadian Undergraduate and Graduate students currently enrolled in programs related to:

  • Environmental Sciences

  • Meteorology

  • Related Earth Science Fields

Program Highlights

This program adheres strictly to the UNESCO AI Literacy Competencies, emphasizing a human-centered mindset, ethical AI principles, understanding of AI techniques and applications, and AI system design. 

These learning resources focus on responsible and sustainable AI practices, including a uniquely Canadian lens related to Indigenous data sovereignty, bias across Canada’s diverse climatic regions, and the Treasury Board Directive on Automated Decision-Making.
