Alton D’Souza is a Machine Learning Resident at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii), where he collaborates with BigGeo to develop intelligent systems for geospatial data analysis. Prior to this, he worked with Middle AI, tackling large-scale scheduling challenges and building scalable solutions.

He also has hands-on experience in developing edge-based agentic systems through his work at Prar Lab, combining AI with hardware to create efficient, real-time applications. With over four years of software engineering experience, Alton brings a strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical, industry-ready solutions delivered on time.

In addition to his technical work, Alton is passionate about AI literacy and has experience conducting workshops, breaking down complex concepts into accessible ideas for diverse audiences. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys skating—both on ice and asphalt—playing badminton, and exploring Edmonton’s local cuisine.
