Blair’s research applies a trans feminist lens to address challenges of power, participation, and justice in AI governance systems.

Blair’s work is qualitative and interdisciplinary, engaging a diverse range of stakeholders to address power imbalances and equity issues in AI governance. With a PhD and Master of Information from the University of Toronto, her research is published in top academic journals like Big Data & Society, Government Information Quarterly, and AI and Ethics.

She's also a passionate educator and public scholar, mobilizing her research to teach students, professionals, executives, public servants, and community leaders about AI policy and ethics. Her public scholarship has been featured in major outlets such as The Globe and Mail and CBC News.

Beyond academia, Blair is a sci-fi and glitch artist who creates experimental work, like her web game object.type(3), which was recently showcased at a conference hosted by McMaster University.
