James McKinnon is a Machine Learning Resident with the Industry team at Amii. He helps clients identify high-impact areas for AI adoption within their business and develops practical strategies for implementation. James has applied AI experience within the health technology industry, and has done research for companies using reinforcement learning to increase efficiency within water treatment facilities and the electricity grid.

James has a Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, where he worked on research at the intersection of machine learning and neuroscience with Amii Fellow Alona Fyshe. In his free time, he enjoys building software, surfing, playing electric guitar and playing hockey.
