Mia Cooksey is a K-12 Education Specialist at Amii, where she works alongside the Training team to build learning activities and facilitate engagement sessions with Alberta teachers. Mia holds a Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta and is passionate about what happens when great teaching meets curious learners, a commitment she has carried from her time as a program facilitator with Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada and through six years as an educator with Edmonton Public Schools.

Off the clock, Mia can usually be found gallivanting around the Edmonton arts scene, whether she’s performing at the Fringe Festival, cracking jokes at Grindstone, or writing her latest short film at the Next Act.

But at her core, Mia is a bona fide goofball with an affinity for donuts, live music, and gaming.
