Anureet Tiwana is a Research Associate at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute (Amii) and completing her Phd in Computer Science at the University of Alberta. Trained in neuroscience (MSc, UCL) with undergraduate degrees in Biomedical Sciences she brings a translational lens to AI in medicine—focusing on methods that are rigorous, interpretable, and deployable in real clinical settings. At Amii, Anureet leads work synthesizing the state of AI in Health for practitioners and startups, with an emphasis on evaluation standards, data quality, and responsible use. Her current interests span medical imaging and clinical NLP, including workflow-aware model design, reproducible pipelines, and bias/robustness testing. Passionate about community impact, she collaborates with healthcare partners to turn evidence into usable tools and teaches on topics at the intersection of AI and neuroscience. Pronouns: she/her.
