Zahra is a Machine Learning Resident at Amii, where she works with one of the AdTech team’s clients on machine learning approaches to workforce allocation and resource optimization, with a focus on predictive modeling, optimization under constraints, and decision-making under uncertainty. She brings research experience in machine learning and reinforcement learning, with prior work in neuro-symbolic methods, Bayesian statistics and inference, program synthesis, and library (skill) learning. Zahra was previously a Research Intern at the Vector Institute, working closely with Dr. Tom Silver and Dr. Kelsey Allen, and before that a Research Intern at Cornell with Dr. Kevin Ellis. She got her MSc from the University of Alberta, where she worked with Dr. Levi Lelis as a graduate research assistant, and holds a BSc in Computer Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.
Outside of work, Zahra enjoys strength training and calisthenics, snowboarding, running, cooking, and listening to podcasts.
