The AI Pathways Partnership is a consortium of post-secondaries from across Alberta coming together to advance artificial intelligence and machine learning, cultivate excellence, and provide opportunities for Albertans to thrive in the global digital economy.
Amii is proud to support these post-secondary institutes as subject matter experts as they plan for learner pathways in AI.
The global economy is changing—artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is propelling us forward, and we have an opportunity to capitalize on momentum and build skills for the future.
In Alberta, we are home to several world-class research hubs that are driving innovation and working with industry to harness the potential of AI and ML. As post-secondary institutions, the AI Pathways Partnership (AIPP) recognizes that we have a responsibility to prepare the next generation for the future, and ensure Albertans of all backgrounds and skill sets are able to navigate this dynamic environment and be successful.
The AIPP helps connect learners to flexible, career-focused education from high school to post-secondary and graduate-level credit and non-credit programs. Whether you are looking to start a career or build on learning and skills that you have acquired through other programs or work experience, there is an AI pathway for you.
AIPP programs will begin in 2021, and will include technical, business, and professional interpersonal skills—competencies that have been identified as being crucial for success by employers and industry organizations. We will also create opportunities for entrepreneurs and innovators in collaboration with industry partners and support organizations.

AIPP is a consortium of post-secondary institutions committed to working collaboratively with industry partners to train learners and retain graduates for Alberta’s dynamic AI and ML industry. The consortium includes NorQuest College, Athabasca University, Concordia University of Edmonton, and Bow Valley College, in collaboration with Amii and made possible through funding provided by Western Economic Diversification Canada.
