Gather with the brightest minds in the AI community from Alberta and beyond at Amii’s Virtual AI Meetup!

Learn about the latest tools and techniques in machine learning, and explore topics that researchers and industry professionals are thinking about or working on.

This month's meetup, hosted by Jubair Sheikh, Amii's Machine Learning Scientist, gives insight into the challenges of building AI-based models for healthcare.

  • Neil C Borle (University of Alberta) discusses the hurdles while using machine-learning models to predict changes in the blood sugar levels of people with Type 1 Diabetes.

    Neil received his MSc Computing Science from the University of Alberta under the guidance of Dr Russ Greiner in the area of applied Machine Learning. Since then he has worked at two startups using machine learning for wearable devices and computer vision for retail loss prevention, respectively. Currently he works for ATB Financial as a Principal Data Scientist developing machine learning solutions for retail banking.
