The AI Seminar is a weekly meeting at the University of Alberta where researchers interested in artificial intelligence (AI) can share their research. Presenters include both local speakers from the University of Alberta and visitors from other institutions. Topics can be related in any way to artificial intelligence, from foundational theoretical work to innovative applications of AI techniques to new fields and problems.
On May 6, Mat Lavoie and Lenora Thomas of Trust Science presented “Engineering and Modeling at Trust Science" at the AI Seminar.
Trust Science is a Fintech company that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance alternative credit underwriting with the aim of making the process fairer and more inclusive. In their seminar, Lavoie and Thomas discuss the types of modelling done at Trust Science, the engineering teams that work within the company and how the organization uses AI within its operations.
