Learn how to plan and execute an ML project in this flexible online course
Applications are now open for the Fall 2022 cohort of the Machine Learning (ML) Technician Certification Course. The 9-week course gives individuals the skills needed to thrive as they pursue a career in AI or integrate ML into their current role. Running from September 20 to November 18, it culminates in a capstone project that leverages real-world datasets to develop an AI-based business solution. Applications close on September 12, 2022.

Part on-demand lessons, part live online classes and part collaborative project, the course takes a flipped classroom approach, where content is delivered by Amii experts using our learning management system (LMS) and then reviewed and practiced with the instructor in a live synchronous class. Live office hours, programming labs and group work highlight the learner experience in this program.

Amii is offering a limited number of scholarships covering the full cost of registration. The focus is on giving access to individuals who are typically underrepresented in STEM fields, who are recent immigrants to Canada or who live in rural settings. Applications are completed on the basis of self-identification. Those interested should fill out the Financial Assistance section of the program application.

Google.org announces new research grants to support critical AI research in Canada focused on areas such as sustainability and the responsible development of AI. The grant will provide a total of $2.7 million in grant funding to Amii, the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) and the International Center of Expertise of Montreal on AI (CEIMIA).
